In my work with clients, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them develop insight and self-compassion as well as to help them understand what might be getting in the way of them achieving their goals and finding fulfillment in their lives.
After graduating with my Psy.D. degree from Widener University in 2009, I worked at Fordham University’s Counseling Center and The Renfrew Center in New York (an outpatient treatment center for eating disorders), as well as in my own private practice. I help clients to address issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, eating disorders/body image issues, physical illness-related issues, family-related issues, and relationship issues. I work with individuals and families, as well as conduct psychotherapy groups.
While much of my work is focused on helping my clients to develop insight and recognize patterns in their past and present circumstances in order to alleviate problems in the long-term, I also believe that it is important to help my clients to develop coping skills to reduce unwanted symptoms in the moment. I integrate principles of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems approaches in my work with clients.
