I believe the foundation of therapy is about building trust and safe, genuine connection. I bring a grounded, authentic presence with lots of compassion, open-mindedness and humor to my relationships with clients. I deeply believe that you are the expert of your own wellness even if it doesn’t feel that way today. My aim is to walk alongside you and be your support as we explore different paths of healing together. Therapy is both about safely and slowly exploring our pain, loss and traumas while also finding our joy, sense of self and community of care.
I use a person-centered, empowerment and mindfulness-based approach. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged-Exposure Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Self-Compassion and Domestic Violence work. I spent the first thirteen years of my career working in the non-profit sector with kids, teens and adults in outpatient settings, homeless shelters and domestic violence programs. I have a strong background working with folks experiencing grief and loss, trauma, relationship concerns, identity exploration, transitions, parenting concerns and burnout especially in a caregiving or helping profession context. Additionally, I have provided supervision to folks new to the social work field and would love to use the therapy space to help social work professionals explore the intersection of self and vicarious trauma that happens in this work.
I enjoy getting outside and being in nature, eating delicious meals, laughing with friends, art and crafting projects and reading or watching TV while cuddling my cats.
