Veronique Hooper

Beginning therapy may feel both hopeful and like enteringinto something uncertain. I strive to create a space where you can speak freely, feel deeply listened to, and begin to explore aspects of yourself that you may not fully understand yet.

I understand the therapeutic relationship as central to our work together. Together, we may begin to notice patterns as they emerge in the room and gently explore what they may be communicating. I strongly believe that you are the expert in your own lived experience. My role is to collaborate with you in bringing greater understanding to these experiences, empowering you to make the changes necessary to live your fullest life.

My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use issues, eating concerns, life transitions and attachment-related challenges. Through a consistent, attuned therapeutic relationship, we can create the possibility for new ways of experiencing yourself and being in relationship with the people in your life.

My path to becoming a therapist is also rooted in mypersonal experience of psychotherapy. In my 20s, I entered into my own therapeutic work and over time this process allowed me to develop a more authentic and integrated sense of self. This personal experience continues to inform my work as a clinician, grounding me in a deep respect for the therapeutic process and a strong belief in its transformative potential.

Before becoming a therapist, I completed three years ofmedical school, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding the human body and its connection to mental and emotional life. Ultimately, I felt drawn more fully to the relational and psychological dimensions of healing, and how our environments (including political) impact our development and mental health, which led me to transition into psychotherapy via a graduate degree in social work.

I earned my Master of Social Service (MSS) from the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research in 2025 and am licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
